Square-Eyed Raccoon
Home Sweet Home! by Sylvia Melanson

A big, shaggy cat startles the square-eyed raccoon on her evening walk. After the raccoon jumps up onto a roof to escape the cat’s muddy claws, she discovers the perfect place to have a family. But when the lady who lives in the house locks Square-Eyed Raccoon in the attic, her perfect new home quickly becomes not so perfect

Sylvia Melanson taught English as a second language to native French speakers for many years. At times, she entertained her high school students with little stories and loved to invent “live” bedtime stories for her son when he was young.

Square-Eyed Raccoon, Home Sweet Home is her first book. Just like the lady in the story, Sylvia had a raccoon on her roof that was determined to get into her attic. The situation was kind of stressful while also funny, which inspired her to write a story through the eyes of the raccoon.

Sylvia lives in Québec, Canada, and is working on the next book in the Square-Eyed Raccoon series, Going Back Home!
